Racing

The velodrome will be brought to life with a full programme of serious racing and this will see range of international riders competing for a variety of prestigious prizes.

The Main Event:

Condor-Continental Keirin Trophy Competition

The centrepiece of the racing programme will be a daily 5-race Japanese Keirin Trophy competition. This will culminate in a final at 6.30pm on Thursday and Friday and 7.30pm on the Saturday. Keirin is an explosive track event, focused on an intense 750m sprint finish in which tiny margins mean everything and battle tactics are ruthlessly employed to secure pole position. The Trophy features a field of World Champion riders such as Olympic Gold-Medallist Ed Clancy and UCI Keirin Champion Azizul Awang.

Brompton ’48 Invitational

One of the best feature races of the Cycling Revival will be the Brompton ’48 Invitational, led by David Millar and guests, in which the race’s winner will take home a mind-blowing £10,048 prize money.

Graeme Obree Returns to Herne Hill

Graeme Obree is celebrating the 25th anniversary of breaking the hour record on Old Faithful by recreating his famous bike especially for the World Cycling Revival.

OXFORD & CAMBRIDGE VARSITY TRACK MATCH

Which Blue are you? The annual Varsity calendar gets a new event this year as the Varsity Track Match launches at the World Cycling Revival Festival.

THE GOLDEN WHEEL (FROM THE GOOD FRIDAY MEETING)

It is our great pleasure to announce that this event will be continuing into the next decade, having previously been raced by Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Andy Tennant and Ed Clancy.
